BRSS is helping to bring back New York’s State Bird, the Eastern Bluebird

Our mission is that future generations of New Yorkers will get to see their State Bird, the Eastern Bluebird.

Since 1998, we have installed over 200 nestboxes. The population of eastern bluebirds in our area went from NO bluebirds to over 25 nesting pairs in 2009.
